Ýves & Elspeth’s SCA scroll portfolio
|
Updated: 08 Mar 2009 |
This page is part of an online portfolio of SCA artwork by Ýves de Fortanier and Elspeth nic Cormac from the year 2003.
This year we took a big step forward in personalizing the Red Raven scrolls, abandoning the column motif I used in 2000 and 2001.
Calligraphy by Yves, drawing and painting by Elspeth.
Stock: 11×14" Bristol board (Strathmore's 300 Series).
I cropped the margins to make the artwork fit nicely on a typical 8.5×11" scanner.

Red Raven: Miramah Her persona lives in Istanbul in the year 1520. This was my second scroll using what I call pseudo-Arabic script. The first I did last year for Miramah's daughter, Allanna. Elspeth did the drawing and painting. Later, Miramah chose to be called Miramah bint Ibrahim. |

Red Raven: Emma of Woodborough Emma's persona was from England, 1375. Hers was the first device on a scroll from me and Elspeth. |

Baron's Prize List Winner An attempt at something simple, elegant, and quick. I think it's a bit short on elegancy. The winner of the day was Warder Cameron. He received another scroll because Signora Serena had already done one. |
