Ýves & Elspeth’s SCA scroll portfolio
2002

Updated: 08 Mar 2009

Home > SCA > Scrolls > here

This page is part of an online portfolio of SCA artwork by Ýves de Fortanier and Elspeth nic Cormac from the year 2002.

Stock: 11×14" Bristol board (Strathmore's 300 Series).

I cropped the margins to make the artwork fit nicely on a typical 8.5×11" scanner.

"Argent Plunger" for Carol Jane Ravenridge
August 2002

NOTE: The image to the left is just the upper-right portion of the piece.

This was a silly faux award, but both it and the scroll were presented with love and respect. Elspeth drew the lady figure, but the rest was my doing.

See the "2000" page in this portfolio to see her Red Raven scroll...

Pages' School graduation for Allanna
September 2002

Allanna was the daughter of Miramah, who had an Arabic persona. So, I decided to try my hand at making a scroll with Arabic-style calligraphy using English words and spelling written from right-to-left. Elspeth did the drawing painting.

Take a look at the three sheets I used for practice... and watch how the calligraphy evolves.
