This page is part of an online portfolio of SCA artwork by Ýves de Fortanier and Elspeth nic Cormac from the year 2001.

About the scrolls below

These were presented at Red Tower XXIX, September 2001.

Calligraphy, drawing and painting by Yves. Emotional support from Elspeth.
Stock: 11×14" Bristol board (Strathmore's 300 Series).

I cropped the margins to make the artwork fit nicely on a typical 8.5×11" scanner.

Red Raven: Borgar the Bright

The black stars are for House Blacksterre.
The towers have mounted cauldrons.

Water-damaged, but decent calligraphy

This was supposed to have been Borgar's scroll, but that was no longer an option after it became covered by a layer of water. (snif)

Red Raven: Laurettia atte Blacksterre

The towers have black stars for House Blacksterre. The towers have plants and flowers. The hollow ravens were my design choice.

Red Raven: Æthelwynn Thrædgyld

Her heraldic arms have green and blue on the diagonal with a gold knot. I chose to avoid knots in the design for a simpler look – which she quite prefers.

OK, can you tell which ones are scanned from color copies?

Other pages in the portfolio: 1998 . 2000 . 2002 . 2003 . 2004 . 2005
