Æthelmearc
Φ I am pretty inexperienced still, but I give newbies the standard what-we-do speech and show they footwork, etc. I'm much more of a student than a teacher at this point, though. ``Jean
An Tir
Φ Just starting to begin teaching some of the basics.
Φ I support other teachers, and work with mostly beginning students. ``Mughain
Φ I only take new fighters through drills with the supervision or support of my Don or with his students in his absence.
Ansteorra
Φ I work well with novices, Male or Female, building their confidence and skill. ``Jacques
Φ I often wind up tem teaching by default. I get the new people or at lest the new women most often. After a little time with me I pass them on to a don or other experienced fencers. I do make sure they fight with others while I watch a few first to be sure they have internalized what they could get form me in the beginning. ``Claire
Artemisia
Φ I'm good at teaching the basics, primarily really good footwork and distance. ``Spanish Dan
Atenveldt
Φ I teach what I know that I know well. While I'm learning more period technique I'll remain a student thereof. Once I feel competent to teach it I will. ``Egan
Atlantia
Φ I rarly teach because I am not that experienced. However I do help run foot drills and other basics that are within my skill level. ``Geoffrey
Φ I don't teach very much, mostly because I don't have that much experience, so I've only taught beginners. I really enjoy teaching though. ``Ihsan
Caid
Φ I am a reluctant teacher and good with begining students, not with advanced students.
Φ I can teach the basics of footwork and form, but I'm still learning the more intermediate & advanced forms. ``Iliana
Φ I believe I am at by best when I'm teaching the basics. I relate well to new fencers. I believe it is my job to give them a solid grounding and then route them to the best person for their style, in order to learn advanced skills. ``Njall
Drachenwald
Φ I just started to teach.
Φ I need more practice and training to become a 'good' teacher - all I feel capable of teaching at the moment is the basics, to rank beginners. ``Acarin
Ealdormere
Φ I don't teach formally, but will show footwork to new fencers, for example.
East
Φ I can teach basics, footwork, simple drills, etc. I'm not able to teach more advanced skills, and turn my students over to those capable of doing so. ``Richild
Φ I am good at teaching the basics, and some intermediate stuff. However, I know my limitations and when a student gets to the point where I can no longer teach them, I hand them off to someone who can better assist them. ``Jane
Φ We are in the process of reviving fencing in Stonemarche (geographically NH) and as such I teach a LOT. I'm not the best teacher in the world, but I know the basics and how to teach them. I do a lot of footwork. I'm also an MIT. ``Astridr
Lochac
Φ I try to teach what I can, mostly I'm getting people into it and encouraging them. ``Aldwin
Meridies
Φ I love it but am still new to it. ``Zygmunt
Midrealm
Φ Just starting out as a teacher, learning to teach by doing and observing others teach elsewhere. Got no instruction when I started out (remote Shire), so I feel like I'm trying to reinvent the wheel. ``Kriemhilt
Φ I can do basic lessons, but otherwise, I'm too inexperienced. I like getting peeps who kind of know how to parry and lunge, and just working with them and teaching them how to think during a bout. For example, throwing 1/4 (or less) speed shots at them, stopping before it hits them, and saying, "okay, what would you do?" and letting them figure out how to parry it. ``Lydia
Northshield
Φ I can teach the very basics, to get people interested in (safe!) fencing. I do enjoy that very much. ``Maisy
Φ I've started teaching some of the newer people and teach them to a point but then I direct them to move knowledgeable teachers. ``Faelan
Outlands
Φ I have just begun teaching, and I am still learning how to teach a class successfully. ``Seuilla
Φ I am able to teach the beginning stuff, but never put myself out as a teacher or an expert. ``Doring
Trimaris
Φ I am still very new to fencing but I will gladly teach a newcomer the things I have learned. I also enjoy bringing new techniques back to my friends.
Φ I have only just begun teaching the basics to some newer folks, but most say I have an easy to understand and constructive approach to sharing my knowledge.
