Φ I patrisipate in heavey and thrown wepons as a marshal. among other A&S stuff.

Φ I was in the SCA long before fence became available in Caid (meaning more than a couple of people in the kingdom doing it). I fight heavies, hold kingdom office, dance, do calligraphy, and socialize.

Φ I began fencing for excercise. The A&S, the exchequerate, the garb, I did those before I began fencing, I will continue doing them when/if I can no longer fence.  ``Richild

Φ I do a lot outside of fencing. I'm a calligrapher, a once-and-soon-again rattan fighter, an occasional dancer, and enthusiastic kitchen assistant, and web minister for my barony, in addition to being very social and fairly politically active.

Φ Primarily I'm a fencer. If fencing were outlawed in the SCA, or if I were in bad physical condition for fencing, I would still be a bard and a tailor but my interest in the SCA would drop enormously; I would probably only show up to shire gatherings once a month.  ``Domenego

Φ I do much outside of fencing in the SCA (I am local MOAS for my shire, I am a bard, I do/teach tablet weaving, I teach dance, I emboider, sew, things like that) and if I can't play rapier, I have other interests to pursue.  ``Lydia

Φ Fencing is fun, but it is not the Be-All and End-All of the SCA, I prefer to try to be well rounded (Brewing anyone????)

Φ I am the MoAS for Schattentor, and I do alot of volunter work for the SCA, Schattentor and the Pre Proto Incip. Noiregarde of which I am now in due to location. I am the desertaucrat for Reval in Vale, I help with all A&S everything for all events, I am the Autocrat for Noiregarde's first event, Yuletide feast.  ``Gabrielle

Φ I PLAY SCA IN AN ALL AROUND AREA FENCING, HEAVY, ARCHERY, BREWING ETC.

Φ Fencing is fun, but not the be-all, end-all. I also play heavy, and do Art/Sci stuff and hold offices. Anyone that one-sided isn't having much fun in the SCA anyway, in my opinion.  ``Melangell

Φ I have been in the SCA for 12 years now. I am a Member of the Order of the Laurel, Order of the Rose and am a Royal Peer. I am also the seneschal of my local group, one of the kingdom regalia officers, etc etc etc. My biggest frustration is that often at events I don't GET to fence because of my other obligations. This is especially true at Kingdom level events, but also affects my ability to attend practices during the week.  ``Dulcia
