Pictures of armored fencers at the Arts of War. This SCA event was held at Lake Hartwell in South Carolina.

A generous lady known as Emmachia took the original pictures.
With the pictures are descriptions from the running of my scenario for three fencers, Bedlam in the Boudoir!
Five fencers participated and liked the first round so much that they let me run them through another one! There were also about 20 spectators, mostly from Atlantia.
I'm very happy to report that the fencers really got into the role playing, some surprising even themselves(!) Most of the spectators loved watching the fencers have fun with bawdy wordplay.

In the practice scene, the jealous Husband (Drake) berates his possibly unfaithful Wife (Melchior), Charles is observing from the back, and Sangre is the Paramour standing on the "bed". Behind him in back, in green and white is m'lord Robin — who kindly donated the use of the props (stool, tarp, blanket, etc.) The yellow item in front of Sangre is Gros Albert, Drake's hand puppet (quack!). In the full-size image, Irene and several other ladies observe from the left. |
Act 1, beginning of Scene 2: As you can see, Sangre and Melchior are truly into their roles as Paramour and Wife. In the full-size image, the loudmouth who was the narrator, marshal and scorekeeper (yours ever so truly) stands by to the left. |
