[Thorngill]		 Sheep to Thread Learn how to prepare raw wool by cleaning, combing, and carding and use a drop spindle to make thread. Bring supplies if you have them. Handouts provided.

  The infirmary wasn't available, so this is where the kids were. I also encouraged families to stay in this cabin and this worked well according to some of the feedback I received.

[Tir Briste]		 A Primer on Arabic Pottery Learn to identify basic shapes, techniques, and influences on Arabic pottery (except lustreware).
11am-Noon 24-Hour Elizabethan Woman's Outfit Learn to make an outfit tailored to you that is comfortable, can be sewn by anyone with some sewing experience, won't cost you an arm and a leg, and can be done in about 24 hours. The class dispels almost all of the myths about women's Elizabethan clothing.

[South Downs] 		The Universal Spider Louis XI: king of the French and "Universal Spider" ... and you thought Richard III was bad! Handouts provided.

1:30-2:30pm Lady Fjorleif Runolfrskona
[Glaedenfeld]		 Food Safety In-depth coverage of food safety, bacteria, holding temperatures, proper sanitation, parasites, and cross contamination. An attempt to bring SCA cooking for groups more in line with the USDA regulations for the food service industry and thereby reduce the likelihood of food contamination.
2:30-4:00pm Feast Preparation for the Semi-Experienced Discussion on how to improve from a meal to a feast. This class will cover color palette, textures, temperatures, special expansion needs for some seasonings, how to “hold food” safely and effectively, how to plan a feast for the season, plating techniques, and how to really figure out how much food you need and what it
will cost.

[South Downs] 		Cues and Clues What to look for in a tournament and/or melee situation.
  Given the cold, wet weather, it was decided that the classes would take place indoors. The classes were likely not presented in the order listed above. Later in the afternoon, fighters went to the quad and worked on their skills after the ground had dried somewhat.

[Trimaris]		 Western Martial Arts Resources: The Current State of the Art An introduction to the panoply of resources now available to the student of Western Martial Arts. Handouts provided.
11am-Noon Irene von Schmetterling, OP;
[South Downs] 		Introduction to Capo Ferro A look at the footwork and guards of Capo Ferro. Class with be comprised of mostly drill work and theory. Please bring a blade and preferably rapier armor for paired drill work. Some loaner gear is likely to be available.
1:30-4:00pm Don Giovanni di Fiamma;
[Trimaris] 		German Longsword on the SCA Rapier Field: An Introduction

The SCA's rules for rapier combat can be used for more styles of unarmored combat than the thrust-oriented Italian rapier of the late 16th century. Learn how the SCA's basic "rapier" rules set can be used to work with other styles of fight.

Don Giovanni will also demonstrate fundamentals of the 14th–15th century German school, the Kunst des Fechtens of Lichtenauer and his followers. Familiarity with German longsword texts (such as Tobler's translations of Ringeck) is not required, though those who have read the works are likely to gain more insights.
Giovanni's morning class was rolled into an after-feast discussion which also covered topics from his afternoon class.

oh, most of the day... Lady Ciara Darra;
[Sable Oak] 		Medieval Pottery Kiln Construction Demonstration interspersed with short lectures.
  Wasn't most of the day, but rather afternoon and evening. Definitely an attention-getter -- to my untrained eye, it was a small igloo-looking thing [from a coating of white Styrofoam] that was a rare and attractive source of outdoor heat.
at least two hours Baron Saavogg Haraldsson, KSCA; [Sol Haven] Building Papier-Mâché Props and Crests Make cool things and save money. Learn how to make wheat paste, crests, and table decorations. See finished items and works in progress. Handout provided with basic materials list.
  Saavogg chose to do this from about 10am to Noon on the porch of the craft cabin.
at least two hours in the afternoon Master Geoffrey MacDhomhnuill; [Tir Briste] Dishing and Metal Manipulation  
  Geoffrey got to do some afternoon fighting (to his delight) and still had a fair amount of time for his show and tell class before Court.

"The Caffeine Addict’s Workshop"		 Coffee and chocolate! To be held near, but not in, the main hall.
  She was also one of the judges for the performing arts entries - which went on a lot longer than anyone would have guessed due to more than one untimely visit to the performance hall (i.e. craft cabin) from Maintenance Services. However, the Queen was also helping judge performing arts, so since Court was rescheduled to account for that, Tere had plenty of time to do her class after the judging was over.
