Arts Martial
- Torchlight tourney on Friday - "I'm Not Dead Yet!":
greatsword only, legs and arms must be taken before delivering the final blow, single-elimination,
wounds retai... heh heh, just kidding.
- Red Tower list on
Saturday (double-elimination, metal body armor required)
- Baron's Prize List - best two-out-of-three, single-elimination,
no weapons requirements
- Rapier activities on Saturday (melee scenario: ship-to-shore)
- Archery activities on Saturday (format and schedule TBD)
Quest
Saturday afternoon. Each team to consist of four people: a heavy fighter, a rapier fighter,
and two non-combatants. Test your knowledge of Meridies history, heraldry, and SCA history!
... in an assortment of categories.
Food
Lunch on Saturday will be a fund-raiser with a round table discussion on What
it was Like Being King of Meridies - come see who we have for panelists. Proceeds will
benefit Seasons and the Barony.
On board (feast) reservations include traveler's fare Friday night and breakfast both Saturday
and Sunday morning. The theme for the feast on Saturday is "Four Woks,
No Waiting" (think Mongolian BBQ).
Feast ingredients, from Borgar: "We will be serving beef, chicken,
and pork, for the meats. The most likely veggies: carrots, onions, bell peppers, cabbage, broccoli,
cauliflower, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and whatever else I find on sale. We will be using assorted
items to season the cooking with, such as garlic oil, rice wine, chicken broth, beef broth,
soy sauces, hot sauces plus whatever else I can find in the kitchen."
{ When I asked about the bell peppers, he said, "they are period... Columbus
found and named them in 1492 on his trip to the West Indies." }
Revelry
- Medieval Knightly News (see ad below)
- A bardic circle is planned for Saturday evening
- Dancing with live music from Peach
Curry and Assorted Kindling; it's also possible that Kamuran and Bashshar from Peach Curry
will perform a stick dance called Dueling Turks!
|
All the news that's fit to print - and if it's not, we'll make it up! Or at
the very least we'll steal it from somebody else. MEDIEVAL KNIGHTLY NEWS will be broadcasting
live from Red Tower on Saturday night!
This performance is rated PG-Parental Guidance Suggested. We wanted to rate it PDG-Pretty Damn
Good, but then we read the script.
