Court: Many local awards. Sol Haven became a Shire.
October 5
A rare appearance by Rikk Starhurler.
{He continued to make a random appearance every few years
or so. The last time I saw him as of this writing, 29 Dec 2002, was at the
funeral last month for Master Thomas the Wordsmith.}
Karl plans to pass the Reeve's office to Tara at Yule Revel.
HRM Boru decrees that the winner of the Flying Dragon List will be the Kingdom Warlord.
The Crown wrote to say thanks for all of the help at Red Tower.
From the Office of the Torch Herald: no (court) reports received from South Downs since January.
Simon (Marshal): Njal is now deputy Marshal. MacLeod Armory is back in business. No official fighter practice on Sundays if the temperature is under 40 or it's raining.
Mistress Christianna reported that only three fighters were at the demo at St. Bartholomew's. Cathal was a "one-man walking demo." {One could say he's known for that.}
October 19
Aeruin reported that Lord Jasper Murtagh excelled in his feast planning at Harvest Moon (hosted by the Shire of Thorngill). {{ Jasper added: "I did not cook at harvest moon because my son decided to be born on that friday. Fatima made me have a back up cook." }}
The Christmas Revel bid went to Lady Marion and Lord Patrick. It will be held on 1/7/95. During the day, a Pas d'Armes will be held. John says he will hold Baronial Court in the evening.
Midwinter A+S will be held 2/4/95. Autocrats: Ceridwen, Tara.
{Ceridwen of Whiteraven later changed her name to Kiraanna Milkhalkova.}
Christianna did a short class on Jack-o-Lantern history.
November 2
Meeting attendance: about 35.
Red Tower attendance was 237. (The rain scared 'em away).
Karl asked for two-liter bottles for waterbearers to use at Flying Dragon.
Midwinter A+S will be at Indian Springs. Everything is heated now. New windows and doors. New porch on hall. Craft hall patio has new railing. No merchants indoors. 60 reservations in.
No meeting on 11/23 due to Thanksgiving.
The next class will be by Lady Rayne on "Creating a Working Persona." {It was a good class.}
December 7
Announcement from Company of St. Cadfael (see Barony index page) by their herald Lord Hywel regarding the Pas d'Armes at Christmas Revel. Also, the Revel will be a Madrigal Dinner with a charge of $2 per person.
Flying Dragon attendance was 209. Balance: about $500 ahead.
HRH Katrina wrote a letter saying she received great unexpected help at
Flying Dragon!
Caroling is scheduled for 12/20 at 8 pm in William's neighborhood.
Upcoming events: Royal University {back when the date wasn't fixed in July}, Midwinter A+S, Saltare, Meridian Maneuvers IV, Gulf Wars.
Class on 1/11/95 will be Heraldry for Non-Heraldic Societies by THL Victoria.
Duke John reiterated the South Downs policy on illegal substances at events: Violators will be told to leave within half an hour. Otherwise, the local authorities will be called and the violator turned over to them.
